Melting Boundaries Film and Science Inc. is a not -for-profit organization established in 2024 with the mission to create compelling documentary films that dig into the intricate relationships between people and nature. While our focus is on the many facets of people-wildlife interactions, our work also explores the intersection of scientific exploration and storytelling, showing how scientists and local, traditional and indigenous communities work together to find solutions, fostering empathy, resilience, and stewardship for our planet in a rapidly changing world.

Water Bears
A film about living with polar bears on the island of Newfoundland, Canada, and how changes in sea ice are contributing to an increasing number of human-polar bear encounters. In collaboration with the Town of St Anthony and filmmaker Brandan Reid.

Beneath the Ice – The Hidden Corals of Labrador
A film about the collaboration of Inuit fishermen from Nunatsiavut scientists on the discovery and monitoring of deep-sea corals off the coast of Labrador, Canada. In collaboration with scientist and filmmaker Zachary MacMillan.

Arctic Echoes
A journey into the Arctic’s disappearing silence, where ancestral knowledge and science reveal the impacts of marine noise on fish and wildlife in Ulukhaktok, NWT. In collaboration with National Geographic Explorer Kyrin Pollok, Ulukhaktok Hunter and Trappers Committee, and the Canadian Wildlife Service.

Mikilaaq Rising
A story told from the perspective of plankton, narrated by an Inuk youth, and highlighting the importance of water‑quality monitoring for the health of wildlife, ecosystems, and northern families. In collaboration with scientist and filmmaker Zachary MacMillan.
